Thailand has launched the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) to attract remote workers. Introduced on May 28, 2024, the DTV allows stays of up to 360 days, extendable to nearly 12 months. Costing $270 (10,000 Thai baht) for five years, it requires a maintenance guarantee of $13,650 (500,000 Thai baht). Contrasting with the stricter "Work from Thailand" Long-Term Resident Visa (LTV), the DTV aims to foster Thailand's appeal as a hub for digital nomads, including cryptocurrency traders and developers, supporting the economy with a flexible visa option for remote work and leisure.
